ADAP & Ryan White Changes in Florida: What You Need to Know

Big changes are happening to ADAP and Ryan White in Florida in 2026. These programs help people living with HIV get medication, doctor visits, and insurance premiums. Now, some of those benefits are changing, and many patients need to take action.

What is changing?

Before, many ADAP patients in Florida received help paying for Marketplace health insurance plans. Starting March 1, 2026, many people will no longer get this same access to care. This means you may need to pick a new health insurance plan during a Special Enrollment Period. The deadline to choose a new plan is April 30, 2026.

How Do I Know If I’m Part of ADAP or Ryan White?

Many patients are enrolled in ADAP or Ryan White services without realizing it. You may be part of one of these programs if:

  • You receive help paying for HIV medications

  • You have a case manager helping coordinate your care

  • Your clinic helped you enroll based on income or residency

  • Your medications or visits are low-cost or covered through assistance programs

If you’re not sure, the fastest way to find out is simple:

  • Call your clinic and ask if you are enrolled in ADAP or Ryan White

  • Check any paperwork or emails for those program names

  • Speak with your case manager, if you have one

Confirming your status is especially important right now due to the 2026 changes.
